Dr. Bosun Tijanni, alongside Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has formalized an agreement with Nokia Solutions and Networks Nigeria. This memorandum aims to provide training to young Nigerians on the latest 4G/5G radio and transmission technologies at the Nigerian Communications Commission’s Digital Parks.
Under this partnership, Nokia Nigeria will establish a comprehensive 5G/4G testing laboratory, utilizing their cutting-edge radio and transmission technologies. This initiative aligns with the objective of enhancing the capabilities and skill sets of Nigerians, ensuring they are equipped with the contemporary skills and knowledge required for the rapidly evolving telecommunications sector.
In support of the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy’s mission to promote digital literacy and cultivate a pool of technical talents nationwide, Nokia Nigeria will also initiate an Entrepreneur Learning Program. This program will offer high-quality vocational training to 200 Nigerian students selected from various regions across the country.
Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, shared this development through a tweet on his verified handle.
He tweeted: “Earlier this week, led by the Honorable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. @bosuntijani, I signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nokia Solutions and Networks Nigeria, to train young Nigerians on latest 4G/ 5G radio and transmission technologies at the Nigerian Communications Commission’s (@NgComCommission) Digital Parks.
“Nokia Nigeria would be setting up a fully functional 5G/4G test lab, leveraging their latest radio and transmission technologies”.
The NCC boss said the collaboration will accelerate the vision to enhance the capacity and skill set of Nigerians.
“This collaboration advances our vision to enhance the capacity and skills-set of Nigerians, by equipping them with contemporary skills and knowledge needed to adapt to the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry.
“In tune with the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy’s (@FMCIDENigeria0 goal to drive digital literacy and build a pipeline of technical talents across Nigeria, Nokia Nigeria would also set up an Entrepreneur Learning Program where it would deliver high-quality vocational trainings to 200 Nigerian students chosen from across the six geo political zones of Nigeria”, Dr. Maida tweeted.
