Ikeja Electric sent out a notice to its customers on Monday, informing them that their Band A feeders would have their tariffs reviewed lowered, from N225/kwh to N206.80/kwh, as of May 6, 2024, with a guaranteed 20–24 hour supply every day. There has been no adjustment to the tariff for Bands B, C, D, and E.
The Band A consumers’ tariff was raised by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) from N68/KWh to N225/kWh.
Customers in Band A could anticipate to receive 20–24 hours of electricity each day, while subscribers in Band B and Band C receive 16–20 hours and 12–16 hours, respectively.
Additionally, according to NERC, only 15% of all power users in the nation are Band A consumers. Furthermore, the government’s electricity subsidy would no longer be available to these clients. Nonetheless, there were responses to the review of the electricity tariff across the nation.
